Job Overview
Enaex is looking for a dedicated Driver to safely and efficiently transport explosive products while ensuring full compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards. This role involves route planning, secure product handling, vehicle inspections, and active participation in both company and team activities.
Key Responsibilities
Policy & Process Compliance
- Stay updated on company policies and procedures by attending training and proactively seeking clarity when needed.
- Follow established processes accurately and raise any concerns or improvement suggestions to your line manager.
Delivery & Logistics
- Receive and deliver explosive products, ensuring seal integrity and proper documentation.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery efficiency, while strictly adhering to public traffic laws and CIE (Commercial in Explosives) regulations.
- Assist in safe offloading by securing the delivery area, following safety protocols, and carrying out the agreed procedure.
Vehicle & Log Management
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure all compliance requirements (valid license, Explosives Operators Card, fire extinguisher checks) are met.
- Maintain a daily logbook tracking deliveries, distances, and required details, and submit reports within specified timeframes.
- Record and report fuel usage and mileage accurately.
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Understand and implement SHE practices and standards consistently.
- Maintain expertise in SHE requirements and uphold compliance at all times.
Stakeholder & Service Provider Relations
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, offering input and collaborating where needed.
- Monitor service delivery from providers, track performance, and suggest or implement improvements as necessary.
Team Contribution & Development
- Actively participate in team activities and support colleagues where help is needed.
- Identify personal development opportunities, get the necessary approvals, and complete development initiatives successfully.
- Engage in company events and consistently demonstrate the Enaex values.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ driving experience
- Proven track record in handling explosive materials and knowledge of Hazchem emergency procedures
- Previous experience in supply chain logistics involving explosives (minimum 2 years)
