
Field Worker (6 Months Contract)
Position Title: Field Worker – Learn to Swim

Stipend: R3,621.00 per month
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 10 (or equivalent).
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Resident of Ekurhuleni (specify ward number).
- Currently unemployed.
- Basic First Aid knowledge.
- Not participating in any current CoE Job Creation programme.
- Physically fit and able to perform water rescues.
- Willing to attend preliminary swimming assessments at CoE swimming pools.
- Prepared to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and during school terms.
- Willing to follow instructions from supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily swimming lessons under the Learn to Swim Programme in line with municipal objectives and safety guidelines.
- Teach participants basic swimming techniques and water safety awareness.
- Keep accurate learner attendance and progress records.
- Prepare, inspect, and maintain pool safety equipment and instructional materials.
- Ensure compliance with municipal health and safety regulations at aquatic facilities.
- Assist with outreach initiatives to promote the programme across the municipality.
- Report incidents, risks, or faulty equipment to the Aquatic Coordinator.
- Provide feedback on lesson progress and learner development to programme coordinators.
- Support administrative tasks related to the aquatic programme when required.

- Individuals currently engaged in other CoE job creation projects are not eligible and may only apply after completing a six-month cooling-off period once their previous contract ends.
