Purpose of the Role

The Facilities Driver will ensure the safe and efficient transport of staff, documents, equipment, and supplies across company sites. This role supports the smooth functioning of the Facilities Department by maintaining company vehicles in roadworthy condition, adhering to traffic regulations, and assisting with basic facilities-related tasks when not driving.

The driver plays a critical role in ensuring punctual deliveries, inter-office mobility, and coordination between Head Office, Koeberg, ATKSS, site offices, and the Atlantis PV Solar Plant.

Key Responsibilities

Safe Transportation

  • Transport staff, equipment, and documents safely between sites.
  • Adhere to traffic laws and company safety standards.
  • Maintain a zero-incident safety record.

Timely Deliveries & Pickups

  • Follow daily transport schedules and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Plan efficient routes and manage time effectively.
  • Minimise delays and client complaints.

Vehicle Maintenance & Safety

  • Conduct daily pre-trip inspections.
  • Report defects or damages immediately.
  • Keep vehicles clean, roadworthy, and serviced on time.
  • Ensure all vehicle licenses remain up to date.

Facilities Support

  • Assist with basic tasks such as moving equipment and setting up meeting rooms.
  • Respond quickly to ad hoc requests.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve department objectives.

Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks (mileage, fuel, service dates).
  • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Submit trip and fuel reports promptly.

Professional Conduct

  • Represent the company professionally at all times.
  • Uphold company values and standards in interactions.
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance.

Qualifications

  • Matric / NQF Level 4.
  • Valid Driver’s License (Code 08 or higher).
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).

Experience

  • 2–3 years’ experience as a driver in transport, logistics, or facilities support.
  • Exposure to both office and site-based environments.
