General Worker

Introduction

The Facilities Management Team is seeking a General Worker to support team members with various ad-hoc maintenance and operational tasks.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (advantageous)
• Previous facilities and maintenance experience (advantageous)
• Basic knowledge of Facility Management and building maintenance
• Understanding of Health and Safety practices

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Assist with ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Director or Engineer
• Install, repair, and modify contractors’ fences across estate building sites
• Carry out grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, weed control, and tree felling on MES and Bondev properties
• Paint and repair vacant commercial premises
• Perform general maintenance (locks, handles, paving, glass repairs, etc.)
• Conduct basic plumbing tasks (leak repairs, geyser valve replacements, toilet seat repairs, unblocking drains/sewage)
• Repair perimeter walls and electric fencing
• Preventative maintenance, including veld fire control
• Refuel generators with diesel during loadshedding
• Maintain street pole frames
• Remove illegal advertising boards around the estate
• Transport employees to designated sites and approved destinations
• Handle transportation and storage of advertising materials for MES and Bondev
• Apply health and safety standards in all duties
