Position Overview
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is seeking a motivated and service-oriented Food Services Assistant to join the Johannesburg Cash Centre. The main purpose of this role is to provide food preparation, serving, and cleaning services in the designated serving areas, ensuring high standards of hygiene, efficiency, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organise daily tasks to complete assigned work within established timelines and standards.
- Perform routine food service duties under supervision, including:
- Ordering necessary ingredients.
- Preparing and serving meals for the Lunch Club.
- Operating the till point.
- Setting up and maintaining meeting rooms and pause areas.
- Performing cleaning and scullery duties.
- Maintain strict hygiene, health, and safety standards in all work areas.
- Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism when engaging with colleagues and visitors, maintaining a strong service orientation.
- Collaborate effectively within the team to ensure smooth operations and positive working relationships.
- Understand how individual contributions impact the overall service delivery of the Cash Centre.
- Show initiative and a willingness to improve work processes for better efficiency and quality.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in the hospitality sector, specifically in food service and cleaning.
- Advantage: A certificate in food preparation will be beneficial.
