Job Purpose
The Packing General Worker plays a key role in supporting daily production operations. Responsibilities include handling, moving, packing, and unpacking stock, cleaning garments, managing racking processes, cutting materials, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the production area.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Stock Handling
- Move stock between various production areas as required.
Racking and Off-Racking Garments
- Load garments onto the auto printing machine and remove them once branding is complete.
- Place printed garments in the curing tunnel and ensure proper curing.
Unpacking and Packing
- Unpack stock, verify accuracy and quality against the job card.
- Pack branded stock after conducting a quality control check, ensuring it matches job specifications.
Garment Cleaning
- Remove loose threads and backing from embroidered garments using embroidery scissors.
Material Cutting
- Cut materials according to templates using a cutting machine.
Housekeeping
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and well-maintained.
- Ensure the factory floor remains neat and orderly at all times.
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Minimum Qualification: NQF Level 3
- Knowledge of:
- Health and safety standards
- Product and production process fundamentals
