Position Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and self-sufficient Dry-Cleaning Operator to join our team. In this role, you will travel daily to various farms and perform the dry-cleaning of chicken houses according to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This is a highly mobile position, with 80%–90% of your time spent on the road, working independently at farm locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel daily to contract grower farms to dry-clean poultry houses.
- Execute dry-cleaning duties following detailed SOPs after birds are removed.
- Complete pre-cleaning checklists and ensure machinery is operational.
- Refill and maintain the dry-cleaning equipment (incl. diesel checks).
- Secure chicken houses after cleaning to prevent unauthorized access.
- Conduct minor mechanical repairs if needed.
- Maintain accurate records and report activities as required.
- Communicate professionally with contract growers and farm personnel.
- Support additional tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 equivalent.
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with PDP.
- Proven experience in the dry-cleaning of poultry houses.
- Understanding of chicken house layout and basic mechanics.
- Comfortable working alone and independently in a field-based role.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Afrikaans is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends when required.
