Requirements:
- A Junior Certificate, Standard 8/Grade 10, AET/ABET, or an equivalent qualification.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of Batho Pele Principles.
- Basic knowledge of safety, hygiene, and cleaning practices.
- Awareness of infection control and hazard monitoring procedures.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
Duties:
- Perform general cleaning tasks and ensure a clean, safe environment.
- Maintain and store cleaning materials and equipment properly.
- Request and manage cleaning supplies as needed.
- Implement and monitor hygiene and infection control measures.

Application Guidelines
- Hand-delivered applications are acceptable and must be submitted on the new Z83 Application Form, available from all government departments or downloadable from:
- The Z83 form must be fully completed and signed by the applicant.
When completing the Z83 form:
- Complete Parts A, C, and D in full.
- In Part B, all fields must be completed, except:
- South African applicants need not provide passport numbers.
- If you answered “No” to questions about conducting business with the State, you may indicate Not Applicable or leave it blank.
- If your occupation requires professional registration and you do not have it, you may leave that section blank.
- In Parts E, F, and G, it is acceptable to indicate “Refer to CV” provided that your CV contains all required information. Missing information may lead to disqualification.
- The CV is regarded as an extension of the Z83 form, and applicants are accountable for all information provided.
- Questions regarding re-appointment conditions under Part F must be answered.
- Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure their qualifications are evaluated by SAQA and must attach proof of such evaluation.
Applicants are not required to submit certified copies of their educational qualifications, ID, driver’s licence, or registration certificates at the application stage. Only a completed Z83 form and a detailed CV must be submitted.
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be required to:
- Attend interviews.
- Present certified copies of all relevant qualifications, ID, driver’s licence (where applicable), and professional registrations.
- Undertake two pre-entry assessments:
- A practical exercise.
- An integrity (ethical conduct) assessment in line with the Directive on Human Resource Management and Development for Public Service Professionalization, effective 1 April 2024.
- Undergo security vetting as required by the same directive.
