About the Role
An established Hydraulics and Engineering company in Johannesburg is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Storeman / Administrator to oversee stock control, asset administration, and safety documentation.
This dual role plays a vital part in maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring that all workshop and field activities run smoothly and in compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory and Stock Control (Storeman)
- Maintain optimal stock levels for all workshop consumables and hydraulic components.
- Initiate and process purchase orders to avoid shortages.
- Manage stock receiving, booking, and dispatch accurately according to procedures.
- Keep precise and up-to-date records of stock movements, receipts, and inventory counts.
Fleet and Asset Administration (Administrator)
- Maintain detailed records of company vehicles, including service history and maintenance logs.
- Manage the booking in/out of vehicles and ensure proper documentation of usage.
- Track and audit fuel consumption to identify discrepancies and manage costs.
- Conduct regular spot checks on vehicles to ensure operational compliance.
Safety and Equipment Compliance (Admin)
- Oversee PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) stock and issue records.
- Ensure correct allocation and documentation of safety gear.
- Assist in maintaining accurate administrative records for health and safety compliance.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience: 3–5 years in a Storeman, Stock Controller, or Administrative role within an engineering, manufacturing, or similar technical environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with industrial consumables; experience in hydraulics or engineering parts is advantageous.
- Administrative Skills: Strong proficiency in record-keeping, data management, and MS Excel or inventory systems.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized with a methodical approach to stock and documentation.
- Location: Preference for candidates residing in or familiar with the East Rand area.
