Requirements

  • ABET Certificate (minimum qualification). Higher qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • 0–1 year of work experience required; 2 or more years of experience in manual labour or general work will be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of operating general work tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Familiarity with gardening equipment and lawn care techniques (e.g., pruning and trimming).
  • Understanding of safe chemical use, including dilution and mixing processes.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance for efficient performance.
  • Awareness of health and safety standards, garden maintenance, and planting practices.
  • Understanding of water utilisation and resource management strategies.
  • Basic knowledge of government regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Must be physically capable and willing to work in or near rivers, dams, canals, and confined spaces.
  • Must be willing to assist other maintenance teams or schemes when required.
  • Punctuality, productivity, and loyalty are essential qualities.

Key Duties

  • Maintain and clean grounds, buildings, fences, benches, and tools using hand and power tools.
  • Apply fertilisers, herbicides, and insecticides to grass, shrubs, and trees using manual or automated sprayers/spreaders.
  • Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, fountains, and other garden or landscape features.
  • Care for lawns, trees, and plants through watering, raking, mulching, and general maintenance.
  • Sweep and clean walkways, parking areas, and building exteriors, including floors and windows.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance and report major defects to relevant service providers.
  • Maintain accurate work records such as job cards and repair logs.
  • Conduct inspections and report damages or defects (e.g., cracks, erosion, or stagnant water).
