About the Role
Cashbuild Limited is seeking a dedicated and service-oriented General Assistant to join our team at the Karen Park branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining merchandising standards, and upholding a clean and safe store environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Grade 10 or NQF Level 3 with at least 1 year of relevant work experience; or
- Grade 12 with no prior experience.
- Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language.
- Basic numerical skills with the ability to perform accurate calculations.
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid South African ID or work permit.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide professional assistance and advice to customers regarding products and queries.
- Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
Merchandising Standards
- Maintain stock displays according to store layout plans and safety standards.
- Ensure all items are correctly merchandised and priced within your designated area.
- Keep the bulk stock area well-organized and safe for both customers and staff.
Housekeeping
- Keep your area clean, tidy, and free of obstacles to ensure a safe shopping environment.
- Restock shelves immediately after stock is received.
- Complete required checklists for canteen, toilets, and showers as per schedule.
Health & Safety (OHSA Compliance)
- Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety regulations, including proper use of safety gear.
- Ensure that racking and bulk stock areas are safe and accessible.
- Report any safety concerns or stock discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Stock Management
- Report damaged or defective stock to the Store Manager promptly.
- Assist in minimizing stock loss through effective handling and reporting.
