1. Food Service Aid – 1 Special Service Battalion (Ref No: 1SSBN/01/41/25/37)
Location: Bloemfontein
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification: ABET.
- No experience required.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Willingness to work after hours during unit events or formal dinners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining hall at all times.
- Prepare and set tables according to the menu; fold serviettes neatly.
- Ensure cutlery, condiments, and beverages are replenished as needed.
- Assist in food preparation and serving.
- Report any damages, losses, or theft.
- Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Prepare for official functions and meetings (e.g., tea/coffee service).

Requirements:
- Minimum qualification: ABET.
- No prior experience required.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Basic knowledge of health, safety, and food preparation.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and ability to perform routine tasks.
- Must be able to work shifts and maintain good interpersonal relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals, snacks, drinks, and garnishes.
- Assist with serving food and receiving rations.
- Support food preparation during field exercises.
- Dispose of kitchen waste properly.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and dining areas.
- Pack supplies and perform stock-related tasks.

- Willingness to work after hours during unit events or functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the dining hall and kitchen.
- Set tables according to menus and ensure availability of condiments and beverages.
- Assist in preparing and serving food.
- Report any losses, damages, or theft.
- Clean dishes, kitchen appliances, and maintain overall hygiene.
- Prepare for functions and serve refreshments during meetings.
