Purpose of the Role

The Funeral Policy Administrator will support the administration of individual funeral policies. While an external partner handles policy administration, Discovery Life requires an internal resource to assist clients and financial advisors, ensuring accurate and timeous processing in line with established procedures. The role also involves maintaining and distributing required reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional customer service to clients by handling inquiries such as adding or removing lives assured, updating beneficiary or contact details, adjusting premium mandates, sending policy documents, and providing necessary forms (including claim forms) with guidance on completion.
  • Assist clients and financial advisors with credit control matters (statements, payment arrangements, refunds, etc.).
  • Manage customer complaints and escalate issues to the Team Leader or Manager when required.
  • Provide financial advisors with product guidance and “how-to” information relating to funeral policies.
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports to financial advisors and franchise teams.
  • Maintain required administrative reports and statistical records.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completed Matric (Grade 12)
  • Customer service experience is advantageous
  • A post-matric qualification is beneficial
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
