Requirements

• An ABET Certificate.
• A higher qualification will be an added advantage.
• Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience in a similar environment.
• Knowledge of general work activities, including the use of gardening tools and equipment.
• Understanding of lawn maintenance processes.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance practices for the proper and safe upkeep of government water infrastructure and related facilities.

Duties

• Perform general maintenance work such as gardening, weed control, painting, firebreak maintenance, and herbicide application.
• Conduct routine inspections of departmental infrastructure.
• Assist in maintaining government water infrastructure and associated facilities, including canals, pipelines, dams, servitudes, buildings, and terrain.
• Report faults, defects, and safety risks to supervisors without delay.
• Load and offload tools, materials, and equipment.
• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and all safety requirements.
• Perform additional general duties as assigned.
