ASSET VERIFICATION CLERK REF NO: S108/2025 (X3 POSTS)
Division: Office of the Director-General (ODG)
Contract: 12-month Fixed-Term
Purpose:
To support the implementation and review of business processes and internal controls that promote good corporate governance within the National Treasury and its entities.
Salary: R193 359 per annum (excluding benefits)
Location: Pretoria
Requirements:
- A Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4).
- Between 0 and 12 months’ experience in physical asset verification.
- Knowledge of asset verification, disposal procedures, and general administrative support.
Duties:
Asset Register:
- Assist in compiling supporting documents and ensuring all assets are tagged with identification labels.
- Provide administrative and general office support for Asset Management activities.
Disposal of Redundant/Obsolete Assets:
- Help identify obsolete or redundant assets for disposal.
- Assist with verifying disposals in line with applicable regulations and departmental guidelines.
- Support the removal and safekeeping of redundant items to designated storage areas until disposal.
Asset Verification:
- Perform verification of departmental assets and report any discrepancies for further investigation.
- Assist in updating the Asset Register based on verification findings and removing redundant items.
- Issue asset inventory forms for users to confirm assets within their areas of responsibility.

Assessments and Compliance
All shortlisted candidates will undergo two assessments:
- A technical assessment to evaluate job-related competencies.
- An integrity (ethical conduct) assessment, with details provided by the Department.

For all Senior Management Service (SMS) positions, successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-entry Programme—available via the National School of Government—is required before appointment finalisation. Some SMS roles may also require additional psychometric testing.
All shortlisted candidates will undergo qualification verification, criminal checks, and citizenship validation. Additional checks may be conducted as required under the new DPSA Directive effective 01 April 2024.

Additional Information
Successful candidates must sign a Performance Agreement within three months of appointment. Appointments extending beyond 12 months will include a 12-month probation period, excluding leave, as outlined in Public Service Regulation 68.
