A family in Bedfordview is seeking an experienced Au Pair to care primarily for their 7-year-old son.
Position Details
Location: Bedfordview
Child: 7-year-old boy (occasional, minimal care for a 2-year-old sibling)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 07:00 to 17:00
Duties & Responsibilities
- Morning school drop-off
- Household admin, errands, and grocery shopping
- Communication with teachers and coaches
- Afternoon school pick-ups
- Transporting the child to and from extra lessons and activities
- Assisting and supervising homework
- Ensuring school bags and lunch boxes are prepared for the following day
- Providing healthy snacks and general daily supervision
- Overall support with the child’s care and routine
Note: The candidate is responsible for the 7-year-old; assistance with the 2-year-old will be rare.
Requirements
- Female candidate, 30 years or older
- Flexible and willing to commit long-term
- Minimum 12 consecutive months of formal childcare experience within the last 2 years (excluding family/friends)
- Own reliable vehicle and at least 18 months of driving experience
- At least two contactable childcare references
- Clear criminal record
- Passion for working with children
- Matric certificate
- South African ID
Package
- Start date: Mid-January 2026 (permanent contract)
- Salary: R18 000 per month (gross)
- Transport: Car provided for childcare-related duties
