Job Overview
Enaex is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Driver to ensure the secure, compliant, and efficient transportation of explosives products. The role requires strict adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements, while maintaining high service and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and safety standards through continuous learning and training participation.
- Follow established processes accurately and address any operational issues promptly.
- Identify and recommend process improvements, providing well-supported input to line management.
- Complete daily deliveries by receiving assigned products, verifying explosive seals, confirming delivery details, planning routes, and obtaining proof of delivery.
- Maximise delivery efficiency through correct loading, effective route planning, and strict compliance with traffic laws and CIE explosives transport regulations.
- Support safe offloading by coordinating with recipients, securing offloading areas, and following approved safety and offloading procedures.
- Ensure vehicle compliance by completing daily inspections, verifying licenses and certifications, and checking required safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate driver logbooks and fuel consumption records, submitting reports within required timelines.
- Implement and monitor Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) standards, addressing gaps and ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and service providers.
- Contribute actively to team initiatives, company events, and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify personal development needs and participate in approved training and capacity-building programs.
- Consistently demonstrate Enaex values in all professional interactions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Hazchem Certification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a driver
- At least 1 year’s experience in explosives handling and emergency procedures (Hazchem)
- Minimum 2 years’ driving experience within a supply chain explosives environment
