Position Overview

Triton Express is seeking a professional and dependable Cross-Border Driver (5T / 8T) based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of cargo across borders while ensuring compliance with company procedures and customs requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver customer cargo efficiently and safely
• Assist with the loading and offloading of goods from the vehicle
• Complete daily collection and delivery documentation as required
• Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any faults promptly
• Handle customer cargo with care during loading and offloading
• Verify the accuracy of delivery and collection addresses
• Maintain regular communication with the depot at all times
• Ensure no deviations from approved delivery or collection schedules without authorisation
• Liaise professionally with customs officials and relevant authorities
• Present cargo for customs inspection when required
• Safeguard all transport and customs documentation and submit it to the receiving branch

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• 1–2 years’ driving experience
• Valid, unendorsed Code 10 driver’s licence
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
• Valid passport
• Good geographical knowledge of the Johannesburg area
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to work under pressure and without supervision
• Willingness to work overtime based on client requirements
• High level of reliability, integrity, and professionalism
• Presentable with a professional appearance at all times
• Own reliable transport to and from work
• Excellent punctuality, with strict adherence to linehaul departure times
