Role Purpose
The Administrator will support the Manager of the Geochemistry Administration Department by ensuring the effective management of administrative functions and maintaining clear, professional communication with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Print and distribute test reports via email
- Invoice completed work in line with agreed pricing structures
- Provide general administrative support, including filing, copying, reconciliations, spreadsheet updates, and creating customised report templates
- Track outstanding work and follow up with laboratories on reporting timelines
- Support the Section Manager with contract reviews and proposal-related matters
- Coordinate and respond to customer enquiries and queries
- Capture test results into SLIM G6 systems where required
- Perform general laboratory-related duties within scope of qualifications
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Ensure confidentiality of all relevant communications
- Comply with health, safety, and quality standards, including ISO 17025, SANAS, and SGS management system requirements
- Participate in Operational Integrity initiatives, projects, and campaigns
- Apply the Check Status process and exercise Stop Work Authority when risks are not clearly controlled
- Carry out any additional reasonable duties as assigned by the line manager
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Grade 12 / Matric or N3 with Mathematics and Science, or equivalent experience recognised through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry will be advantageous
Experience and Skills:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar administrative role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Previous laboratory experience will be an advantage
