Enaex is seeking a responsible and safety-focused Driver to join its operations in Gauteng. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient transportation and delivery of products, in line with company policies, SHE requirements, and explosives transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to organisational policies by keeping knowledge up to date, attending training sessions, and proactively addressing operational queries
- Follow established procedures accurately, maintaining awareness of processes and resolving issues promptly
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and submit well-supported recommendations to management
- Complete daily deliveries by receiving allocated products, verifying explosives seals, confirming delivery locations, planning efficient routes, and obtaining proof of delivery
- Maximise delivery efficiency through correct vehicle loading, effective route planning, and strict compliance with road traffic laws and CIE explosives transport regulations
- Support safe offloading by confirming offload plans with recipients, securing offloading areas, and following approved safety procedures step by step
- Ensure vehicle compliance by completing daily inspections, validating driver documentation (licence and Explosives Operators Card), and confirming the availability and condition of safety equipment
- Maintain accurate daily driver logbooks, recording trips, distances travelled, and deliveries completed, and submit reports within required timelines
- Monitor and report fuel usage by maintaining detailed fuel consumption records and submitting them as prescribed
- Implement and maintain SHE standards through training participation, monitoring activities, and timely resolution of non-compliance
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and service providers, ensuring agreed service levels are met
- Actively contribute to team activities, company initiatives, and events while demonstrating Enaex values in all interactions
- Identify personal development needs and participate in approved training and self-development opportunities
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Hazchem Certification
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a driver
- At least 1 year’s experience in explosives handling and emergency procedures (Hazchem)
- Minimum of 2 years’ driving experience within a supply chain or explosives environment
