Role Overview

The Shop Assistant Cashier is responsible for providing service excellence through efficient point-of-sale operations, merchandising, and customer engagement. The role supports a positive in-store experience while contributing to sales growth and customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute point-of-sale operations accurately and efficiently
• Scan merchandise, process payments, and manage ClubCard rewards
• Handle cash safely and in accordance with company procedures
• Promote the Clicks ClubCard and enrol new members to meet participation targets
• Inform customers of current promotions to drive sales and enhance value
• Deliver exceptional customer service while acting as a Clicks brand ambassador
• Maintain merchandising standards and perform general housekeeping duties
• Stay informed on products, promotions, and in-store events
• Uphold and promote the company’s values and vision

Knowledge Requirements

• Basic numeracy and mathematical skills
• Understanding of retail/FMCG operations, merchandising, and promotions
• Knowledge of stock management procedures
