Position Overview
Clicks Group, through its Unicare division, is seeking reliable and customer-focused Drivers to join the team at the 24-hour Pharmacy in Somerset West. This role is essential in ensuring the safe, prompt, and confidential delivery of prescription medicines and healthcare products to customers and healthcare facilities, supporting service excellence and patient trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prescription and over-the-counter medication to private residences, clinics, retirement facilities, and hospitals
- Prioritise and manage urgent deliveries effectively
- Safely handle temperature-sensitive and scheduled medication, including the use of ice packs for refrigerated items
- Load delivery vehicles carefully to prevent damage or loss of parcels
- Obtain customer signatures and maintain accurate proof-of-delivery records
- Ensure strict patient confidentiality at all times
- Communicate professionally with patients and healthcare professionals
- Report customer feedback, concerns, or queries to the Dispensary Manager
- Return undelivered or rejected items with the required documentation
- Keep delivery vehicles clean and well maintained
- Complete delivery check sheets accurately and confirm parcel quantities before dispatch
- Carry out all allocated duties efficiently and within required timeframes
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) – essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a delivery or courier role
- Basic knowledge of pharmacy procedures (advantageous)
- Valid Code 08 or Code 10 driver’s licence in line with South African Road Traffic regulations
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- Clean driving record with no traffic violations
- Willingness to work shifts as required by operational needs
