Purpose of the Role
Sasol is offering an exciting Learner Artisan (Millwright) opportunity for motivated individuals who want to build a technical career in the mining and energy sector. Successful candidates will undergo structured workplace and institutional training to qualify as a certified Millwright, in line with QCTO and NAMB requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As a Learner Artisan, you will be trained and supported to:
- Gain practical competence on plant, mining equipment, and systems
- Understand and use plant maintenance and work management systems
- Apply basic process and plant-specific technical knowledge
- Comply with all safety management systems (IMS, MBO, etc.)
- Conduct hazard identification and task risk assessments
- Read, interpret, and implement maintenance documentation
- Participate in daily toolbox talks, PDAs, and RCAs
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow waste disposal standards
- Provide accurate feedback on work progress and equipment history
- Assist with developing work instructions and improving team capability
- Participate in performance reviews and personal development planning
- Work effectively within a team and take initiative when required
Minimum Requirements
- Completed Matric, N3, or equivalent qualification
- Passed Mathematics, Physical Science, and English
- 0–1 year relevant experience (advantageous but not required)
- Strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems
- Willingness to learn, follow safety standards, and work in an industrial environment
