APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME OPPORTUNITY
merSETA in partnership with Sekhukhune TVET College
The Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA), in collaboration with Sekhukhune TVET College, invites applications from unemployed local youth for participation in an Apprenticeship Programme.
This opportunity is aimed at empowering young people with practical workplace experience and accredited technical training in engineering-related trades.
📘 Available Apprenticeship Fields
Applicants may apply for the following apprenticeship qualifications:
- Fitter and Turner Apprentice
- Mechanical Engineering Apprentice
- Electrical Engineering Apprentice
Specific occupational codes and NQF-aligned qualifications will be confirmed during the assessment and contracting phase.
⏳ Duration
- 30 Months
✅ Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be unemployed
- Be under the age of 35
- Hold a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Mathematics and relevant technical subjects will be an added advantage
- Meet the minimum requirements for the specific apprenticeship applied for
🎓 Preference
- First preference will be given to applicants who previously studied at Sekhukhune TVET College
📝 Selection Process
- All applicants will be subjected to assessment and selection processes
- Successful candidates will be required to enter into:
- A relevant ETQA Agreement
- An Employment Contract
