REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African citizen
- No previous criminal or departmental convictions and no pending cases
- Must undergo vetting, security screening, and fingerprint verification
- Grade 10 (Standard 8) / Basic Education and Training (NQF Level 3)
- Fluent in at least two official languages, one of which must be English
- Registered with PSIRA
- In possession of Grade C Security Certificate or higher
- Not declared unfit to possess a firearm
- Willing to undergo and maintain firearm competency training
- Willing to work shifts and extended hours
Added Advantages:
- Degree or Diploma in Security Services
- Relevant security-related courses
- Valid driver’s licence (light motor vehicle)
DUTIES
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Access control in terms of the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act 53 of 1985)
- Positive identification of employees, visitors, and contractors
- Registering and searching of employees, visitors, and contractors
- Authorising entry after compliance with legislative requirements
- Confirming visits with hosts and ensuring escort procedures
- Issuing and collecting visitor admission cards
- Maintaining visitor registers
- Inspecting suppliers, articles, and objects entering the premises
- Patrolling buildings and fenced-off areas
- Guarding vehicles and equipment (security-related only)
- Monitoring security equipment and reporting defects
- Reporting security issues to senior security personnel
