🎯 Purpose of the Role
The Maintenance Operator Gr 2 (Mechanical) supports the maintenance, operation, and upkeep of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment. The role focuses on assisting artisans, operating equipment safely, and collecting accurate field data to ensure optimal plant performance and productivity.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Assist and support artisans to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas
- Ensure tools are packed, stored, and controlled correctly
- Use hand tools and workshop equipment safely and correctly
- Prepare and arrange tools required for tasks as instructed
- Assist with installation and removal of machine components
- Identify and use the correct oils and lubricants for servicing
- Drive and deliver samples when required
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics, Physical Science and English
- CHIETA NQF Level 2 (Mechanical)
Experience:
- 1–2+ years relevant mechanical maintenance experience
License:
- Valid Driver’s License
