This Horticulture Learnership Programme (NQF Level 2) aims to develop scarce and critical skills while creating employment opportunities for unemployed youth.
✅ Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be unemployed
- Not be enrolled in any institution or registered for another learnership
- Not have completed any post-matric qualification
(Failure to disclose post-matric qualifications will result in disqualification) - Have Matric (Grade 12) with:
- Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Life Sciences
- Minimum Level 3 in ALL required subjects
- Submit a SAQA / NLRD verification report
- Be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID
- Be between 18 and 35 years old

🌿 Primary Duties
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of horticultural sites
- Monitor plant growth and health conditions
- Conduct soil preparation and planting activities
- Maintain tools, equipment, and irrigation systems
- Assist with plant propagation, watering, and fertilising
- Attend theoretical classes as part of the programme
- Complete assignments, assessments, and practical logbooks

- Understanding of Rand Water’s mandate and its role in the water sector

- Good verbal and written communication skills
