About the Role
Premium Resources Botswana is seeking a qualified and experienced Winding Engine Driver to operate the winding engine for hoisting and lowering personnel, materials, and ore within the shaft. This position requires full compliance with the Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act, ensuring safe and efficient shaft operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the winding engine safely and efficiently.
- Review, sign, and acknowledge entries in the driver’s logbook per regulation 401(4) or 380(c).
- Respond only to distinct and proper signals, except in emergencies under direct instruction.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company procedures.
- Follow lockout procedures prior to any maintenance work.
- Stay fully conversant with the Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act, specifically Part XXIV and XXV.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of BGCSE or equivalent academic qualification.
- Valid Winding Engine Driver Certificate of Competency or Certificate of Test.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Recent hands-on experience: Must have operated as a Winding Engine Driver within the past 2 years.
