About the Role
Fedics, a division of Tsebo Solutions Group, is looking for an experienced Cook to join their team in Isando. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing meals using standardized recipes, assisting with menu planning, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining high sanitation standards. The role also includes responsibilities related to procurement and operational improvements to ensure efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals (meats, vegetables, soups, desserts, etc.) to customer specifications
- Prepare food for special dietary requirements
- Assist with training and supervision of food service staff
- Manage preparation schedules to ensure timely service
- Maintain food production records and inventory
- Ensure kitchen and equipment cleanliness and safety
- Report food quality and equipment issues
- Serve food and uphold sanitation standards
- Work shifts, including nights and weekends
- Lift and move heavy equipment as required
Required Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work independently and multitask efficiently
- Good communication skills with kitchen staff and managers
- Strong attention to detail
- Customer-focused mindset
- Able to stand for long periods
- Physically fit to lift heavy items
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Culinary or relevant qualification
- 2–4 years’ experience in food preparation and cooking
