Are you passionate about working outdoors and taking pride in well-maintained landscapes? We are looking for a dedicated Gardener to join our team at Zwartkopjes. This is your opportunity to play a key role in developing and maintaining attractive and functional landscapes using a variety of tools and machinery in a physically active environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general site maintenance including cleaning, sweeping, weeding, watering, and planting.
- Apply compost, fertilisers, and mulch as needed.
- Operate and maintain horticultural machinery such as lawnmowers and brush cutters.
- Load and offload plants, tools, machinery, and other materials.
- Assist with landscaping projects, decorations, and light construction as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Standard 10 (Grade 12)
- Experience: At least 6 months’ relevant horticultural experience
- Physical fitness to work with heavy equipment and perform labour-intensive tasks
- Ability to operate horticultural machinery (e.g. brush cutters, lawnmowers)
- Understanding of basic safety protocols
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical horticultural skills and plant knowledge
- Familiarity with hand tools and landscape equipment
- Awareness of workplace safety
- Good verbal and written communication skills
