About the Role

Tsebo Facilities Solutions is looking for a skilled and reliable Handyman to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will support our client by delivering a high-quality, proactive maintenance programme. This includes both planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of disciplines – plumbing, carpentry, welding, painting, and more.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is passionate about building upkeep, facility management, and creating safe, functional environments.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Maintenance

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs across plumbing, carpentry, welding, painting, and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain and repair fixtures, furniture, fittings, and equipment within the facility.
  • Complete all tasks in a safe and timely manner, following OHS Act guidelines.
  • Carry out inspections, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and reactive work as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workshop and work areas.
  • Escort and monitor sub-contractors to ensure safety and compliance on site.

Service & Performance Management

  • Ensure all maintenance tasks meet SLA and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance work, tools, and equipment.

Client Interaction

  • Build strong, service-oriented relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve client enquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Support team processes to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

Reporting & Administration

  • Submit weekly/monthly maintenance reports to your Supervisor.
  • Maintain updated records, including inspections, work orders, and supplier details.

Professional Conduct

  • Promote Tsebo’s image and values through professional work and conduct.
  • Adhere to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible in your duties and responsibilities where needed.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of general maintenance and tools.
  • Practical experience in plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical systems, and welding.
  • Basic understanding of building layouts and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict and build good client relations.
  • Knowledge of maintenance suppliers, materials, and equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12) required.
  • NQF Level 4 technical qualification is an advantage.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a facilities or maintenance environment.
