Job Purpose:
To provide clerical and counter services to new and existing customers for water and other services offered at the specific location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle enquiries and counter duties to resolve customer queries, ensuring services align with policies and standards.
  • Register, terminate, and transfer accounts via counter or telephone.
  • Resolve consumer queries and update account details.
  • Investigate outstanding bad debts.
  • Authorize re-connection orders for water and electricity services upon full payment.
  • Compile daily statistics of counter queries and telephone calls.
  • Load credit authorities for water and electricity to recover outstanding debts.
  • Perform data checking, monitoring, and capturing to ensure accurate customer and account information.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Preferred: 2 years of relevant experience.

Remuneration:
R172,624.46 – R224,081.71 per annum, plus benefits (Housing Subsidy, Leave, Medical Aid, Pension Fund, 13th Cheque).

Job Purpose:
To ensure an efficient and accurate application process is followed and to provide technical advisory services to the electrical contracting industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate reported electrical shocks and determine their causes.
  • Investigate claims against eThekwini Electricity for damage to appliances and electrical equipment.
  • Provide advice on departmental codes of practice, SABS codes, electricity supply by-laws, and tariff applications.
  • Investigate tariff selection, crossed meters, consumption queries, and illegal wiring.
  • Process and monitor routine power enquiries, supply applications, certificates of compliance, and customer queries.
  • Test and inspect electrical installations.
  • Provide technical support to customer service centres.
  • Negotiate and liaise with consulting engineers, architects, electrical contractors, and consumers regarding electricity service applications.
  • Authorize removal of services when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Trade Tested Artisan (Electrician).
  • NTC2 or NCV3 in Electrical Engineering from a registered Further Education and Training College.
  • Registration as an accredited person under the Electrical Installation Regulation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Preferred: 4 years of relevant experience.

Remuneration:
R351,622.62 – R456,424.96 per annum, plus benefits (Housing Subsidy, Leave, Medical Aid, Pension Fund, 13th Cheque).
