Are you a skilled EC driver ready to make a difference in municipal service delivery?
Midvaal Local Municipality is hiring 2 experienced Truck Drivers (Code EC with valid PDP) to join our team supporting landfill and transfer station operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 (Grade 12 is an advantage)
- Valid Code EC (14) Driver’s License + PDP
- 2 years’ truck driving experience (preferably in Local Government)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Physically fit and self-disciplined
- Knowledge of safety protocols and municipal waste regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Operate skip trucks, tipper trucks, and compactors for waste transport
- Execute tasks from work orders and instructions from supervisors
- Handle basic vehicle maintenance, inspections & cleaning
- Comply with safety, road, and waste transport regulations
- Record kilometres, fuel usage, rest periods, and complete vehicle reports
- Assist with general duties when not driving
- Liaise with Supervisors & Fleet Coordinator for maintenance scheduling
