Role Purpose
Join a dynamic control room team where your vigilance, system knowledge, and attention to detail will directly support asset protection and remote operations. The COR Operator is responsible for issuing system codes, controlling remote access, monitoring alarm and tracking systems, and supporting both field and centre-based operations.
Key Responsibilities
🧩 System Access & Code Management
- Generate and issue system codes with accurate, verified stakeholder information.
- Perform security checks prior to granting access.
- Maintain updated records on the access control system.
- Assist with ad hoc duties as requested by Supervisors or Line Managers.
📡 Monitoring & Escalation
- Track systems, alarms, and vehicle activities in real time.
- Confirm system uptime and report irregularities.
- Action alarms per procedure and verify events with third parties.
- Escalate faults, SOP transgressions, or emergencies swiftly.
🗂️ Reporting & Database Management
- Maintain occurrence books, registers, and fault logs.
- Generate reports on incidents, trends, and anomalies.
- Assist in maintaining alarm and access databases.
🤝 Stakeholder Support & Relationship Management
- Build effective internal and external stakeholder relations.
- Respond to queries and escalate technical or procedural issues.
- Ensure communication between centres and monitoring operations remains active.
Specialised Duties Based on Deployment
Operators in the PMC
- Manage permissions for ATM Custodian profiles.
- Track fleet vehicles and activate Vehicle Protection Units remotely.
- Report EWI (Early Warning Intelligence) for potential threats.
- Maintain OTC system and support Device Administrator with updates.
Operators in the COR
- Provide KABA lock battery combinations when required.
- Support SCOs with alarm testing and OB logging.
- Identify and report alarm/event trends to Shift Supervisors.
Requirements
✅ Education
- External applicants: Grade 12 required.
- Internal applicants: Minimum Grade 10 with 3 years control room experience.
✅ Experience
- Internal applicants:
- 3 years’ experience in monitoring/access control systems with Grade 10
- Or 1 year experience if Grade 12
- External applicants:
- 2 years’ experience, including 1 year in client-facing roles
- CIT or logistics experience is advantageous
- Call Centre or customer service experience is a plus.
