ADMINISTRATION CLERK (REF NO: 3/3/1/18/2025)
Directorate: Plant Health
Salary: R228 321 per annum (Level 05)
Location: Gauteng (Pretoria) – Head Office

Requirements:

  • A Grade 12 Certificate is essential.
  • No prior work experience is required.
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures, data capturing, computer operation, and basic statistics.
  • Understanding of Public Service legislation and departmental work processes.
  • Skills needed: strong communication (verbal and written), language proficiency, planning and organising, computer literacy, interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Duties:

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support.
  • Record, organise, store, capture, and retrieve correspondence and data.
  • Maintain and update registers and statistics.
  • Handle routine enquiries, photocopying, and sending/receiving faxes.
  • Distribute documents and maintain the component’s filing system.
  • Type letters and other correspondence as needed.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing document registers and assist with minute-taking.
  • Provide supply chain administrative support, including liaising with stakeholders regarding goods and services, obtaining quotations, completing procurement forms, and monitoring stationery stock.
  • Maintain the component’s asset register.
  • Provide HR administrative support, including maintaining leave records, personnel files, and attendance registers, as well as coordinating travel and accommodation.
  • Provide financial administrative support by capturing expenditure, verifying travel and subsistence claims, and managing telephone accounts and petty cash.
