Requirements:
A Senior Certificate/Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification. Previous administrative experience will be an added advantage. Possession of a valid driver’s licence will also be an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of clerical functions, data capturing, and administrative statistics.
- Basic understanding of administrative procedures and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Familiarity with financial operating systems such as PERSAL, BAS, and LOGIS.
- Understanding of the legislative framework governing the public service.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage diversity and maintain client-oriented service delivery.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- High sense of accountability, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office).
Duties:
- Implement and ensure compliance with transport management directives, policies, and procedures.
- Process new applications for subsidized vehicles and prepare submissions for the adjudication committee.
- Conduct inspections, monitor utilization, manage maintenance, and process related claims for subsidized vehicles.
- Oversee the management and operational control of fleet and departmental vehicles.
- Administer transport invoices, ensure proper authorization, and manage traffic fine payments.
- Prepare and submit monthly transport reports.
- Verify and ensure quality assurance of log sheets for subsidized vehicles.
- Maintain efficient filing systems, registers, and databases for tracking and tracing transport documentation.
- Liaise with service providers and regional offices on transport-related matters.
- Provide advice and support to officials and management on transport management issues.
- Handle accident reports, coordinate transport-related meetings, and perform driver or administrative support duties as required.
