Requirements:
- A Grade 12 Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
- No previous experience is required.
- Training in asset management, codification, or procurement will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Good telephone etiquette and typing skills.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- High level of reliability, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Numerical accuracy and sound knowledge of administrative policies and procedures.
- Understanding of DOD policies, SOPs, and directives.
Duties:
The successful candidates will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to ensure effective management, control, and safekeeping of logistical documentation in line with security and audit standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and allocating document identification numbers, revision levels, and computer file references.
- Capturing data on the Logistics database and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records.
- Administering document release processes and overseeing the secure disposal of redundant classified documents.
- Assisting with physical audits of records and maintaining distribution registers.
- Controlling access to classified hard copies and electronic media, ensuring their safe return after use.
- Maintaining a structured filing and tracking system for all logistical documentation.
- Monitoring and recording document movements to ensure accountability.
- Supporting management in implementing and maintaining an effective document control system.
This position requires precision, adherence to policies, and the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently within a structured logistics environment.
