About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support to all business leaders and staff across Verifone Africa.

This role supports approximately 80 employees across our Bryanston and Honeydew offices, ensuring the smooth execution of administrative functions, statutory compliance, and internal governance processes.

The role also plays a critical part in ensuring corporate governance compliance, including the effective administration of Board and Committee operations, and serves as the training coordinator for BBBEE Skills Development requirements.


Key Responsibilities

1. Board Administration

  • Schedule and coordinate quarterly Board meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and Board packs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate record keeping for all Board activities.

2. Social & Ethics Committee (SEC)

  • Coordinate and schedule quarterly SEC meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting packs and minutes.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and facilitate communication among committee members (Board, HR, and Finance).
  • Present SEC outcomes and recommendations to the Board.

3. Equity Employment Committee (EEC)

  • Support committee coordination and ensure compliance with South African labour legislation.

4. BBBEE Skills Development Coordination

  • Manage the company’s BBBEE training and skills development initiatives.
  • Assist with the annual training budget allocation (approx. 6% of payroll / ZAR 3.8 million).
  • Liaise with managers, training providers, employees, and Finance to source accredited training.
  • Track, record, and report on training spend and participation to maintain BBBEE compliance.

5. General Administrative & Business Support

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the General Manager, and departments including Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Engineering.
  • Organize meetings, company events, and internal communication.
  • Manage documentation, filing systems, and correspondence to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Perform ad hoc administrative tasks as required across business units.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and document accuracy.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of BBBEE compliance (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Prior administrative or executive support experience preferred.
