Requirements:
Applicants must hold a Grade 12 certificate. No prior work experience is required. Applicants should have basic knowledge of clerical functions and practices, including data capturing, computer operation, and the collection of statistics. An understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service, as well as standard working procedures within the work environment, is required.
Skills and Competencies:
Good language and communication skills (verbal and written), planning and organisational skills, computer literacy, interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Duties:
Provide general clerical support services, including recording, organising, storing, capturing, and retrieving correspondence and data. Update registers and statistics, handle routine enquiries, make photocopies, and receive or dispatch facsimiles. Distribute documents and packages to relevant stakeholders and maintain an effective filing system. Type letters and other correspondence when required and manage incoming and outgoing document registers.
Provide supply chain clerical support by liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding the procurement of goods and services, obtaining quotations, completing procurement documentation, managing stationery stock, and maintaining the asset register.
Provide personnel administration support, including maintaining leave, attendance, and personnel records, as well as arranging travel and accommodation. Offer financial administration support by capturing and updating expenditure, checking subsistence and travel claims for accuracy, managing telephone accounts, and administering petty cash for the component.
