Kick-start your career in the commercial automotive industry with Magnis UD Trucks Pretoria East. We’re looking for a motivated Year 1 Apprentice who’s eager to learn, grow, and build hands-on technical expertise working on trucks and buses under industry-leading standards.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Service Manager, you’ll support the workshop team by assisting with vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and servicing—while developing real-world technical skills in a professional dealership environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing fault diagnosis to support efficient vehicle servicing
• Using diagnostic equipment correctly during vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all DCSA procedures and repair policies are followed
• Communicating clearly with Service Advisors regarding technical findings
• Maintaining vehicle care, safety, and cleanliness at all times
• Assisting with breakdowns when required
• Completing job cards, reports, and service documentation accurately
• Ensuring parts are signed out, used correctly, and returned if unused
• Supporting cost-effective and accurate repair solutions
• Attending technical training courses provided by Daimler and Cargo Motors
• Maintaining a clean, organised work area and professional appearance
• Assisting with promotional campaigns and other reasonable workshop duties

⚙️ Specific Role Focus

• Delivering technical and diagnostic support within the service department
• Maximising the use of modern diagnostic tools
• Interpreting diagnostic results accurately
• Assisting with servicing of electrical equipment
• Engaging with customers on service-related matters when required

🎓 Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
• N2 Qualification, including:
  • Engineering Science
  • Technical Drawing
  • Mathematics
  • Diesel Trade Theory
