Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 10 (Grade 12 will be an added advantage)
- Code 10 Driver’s License with PDP (added advantage)
- Ability to operate various hand, electrical, and gas-operated tools/equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (bilingual)
- Ability to follow and execute instructions
- Good physical health and basic manual labor skills
- Self-disciplined and hard-working
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Sewer/Purification environment within a Local Government Authority
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Millwright with daily assigned tasks
- Perform manual labor tasks at sewer and water excavation sites (e.g., digging with picks and shovels)
- Load and off-load materials and equipment using appropriate safety tools
- Clean work areas to ensure a hygienic and orderly environment
- Carry out labor-related duties as instructed by the Supervisor or Superintendent
- Follow all lawful instructions to maintain productivity and efficiency in the Sewer, Water, and Purification sections
- Perform any related ad hoc duties as required by management
Salary Package:
- Annual Basic Salary: R165,708.00 – R184,404.00 (Level 12, Grade 04 Local Authority)
- Total Package (inclusive of all benefits): R298,148.64 per annum
