Position Overview
A family based in Bedfordview is seeking a dedicated and experienced Au Pair to care primarily for their 7-year-old son. Occasional assistance with a 2-year-old may be required, but the main responsibility will remain with the older child. This is a long-term, permanent opportunity suited to a committed and flexible candidate.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:00
Key Responsibilities
- Transporting the child to and from school
- Collecting the child from school and extra-mural activities
- Assisting with homework and supervising daily routines
- Liaising with teachers and coaches
- Running household-related errands and general administration
- Shopping as required
- Ensuring school bags and lunch boxes are prepared for the next day
- Providing healthy snacks during the day
- General care, supervision, and support of the child
Requirements
- Female candidate, aged 30 years or older
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to a long-term role
- Valid South African ID
- Matric qualification
- Clear criminal record
- Genuine passion for working with children
- Minimum of 12 consecutive months of formal childcare experience within the last 2 years (excluding care for friends or family)
- At least two contactable childcare references
- Own reliable vehicle and a minimum of 18 months’ driving experience
Salary & Benefits
- R18 000 per month (gross, before deductions)
- Petrol allowance included
- Vehicle provided for childcare-related duties
