Key Responsibilities
As an Automotive Apprentice, you will receive practical on-the-job training while supporting qualified technicians. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting qualified technicians with routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles
- Learning how to accurately record and clock job times according to dealership standards
- Understanding and following Repair Order Instructions before commencing any work
- Gaining exposure to job planning and identifying required parts for repairs and services
- Ensuring tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised
- Attending all prescribed training sessions and technical courses as required
- Adhering to workplace safety regulations and manufacturer standards at all times
- Developing technical knowledge and practical skills under supervision
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this apprenticeship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Grade 12 / National Certificate
- Mathematics and Physical Science are compulsory subjects
- An automotive-related subject will be a strong advantage
- Strong interest in motor vehicles and mechanical systems
- Willingness to learn, grow, and commit to a technical trade
- Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure
- Good verbal communication skills (training is primarily conducted in English)
- Positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work well within a team
