π About the Opportunity
Sibanye-Stillwater invites passionate, driven individuals to apply for a Learnership in Mechanical Fitting (incl. Machining). This is a golden opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop technical skills, and build a promising career in the mining and engineering sector.
As part of our commitment to transformation and workforce development, we are offering two learnership placements at our Platinum Marikana operation.
β Minimum Entry Requirements
Option 1: N2 Certificate
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Engineering Drawing
- Fitting Including Machining Trade Theory
OR
Option 2: NCV Level 4 β Engineering & Related Design
- Mathematics (Min 40%)
- Physical Science (Min 40%)
- Engineering Graphics Design
- Materials Technology
- Engineering Practice & Maintenance
- Fitting & Turning
OR
Option 3: Grade 12 with Trade-Related Subjects
- Mathematics, Physical Science, Engineering Graphic Design, and Trade Theory (Min 40% for each subject)
π‘ Additional Requirements
- Medically fit for duty in a mining environment
- Clear security screening
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
- Previous experience in an engineering environment (advantageous)
π οΈ Key Responsibilities
- Complete all modules of the learnership within the required timeframe
- Adhere to all SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) requirements and attend relevant meetings
- Maintain high safety standards and conduct risk assessments
- Report developmental progress and escalate concerns when necessary
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Participate in organizational development and culture transformation initiatives
- Align with ESG principles and operational excellence practices
