Unitrans is looking for highly skilled and safety-conscious Bus Drivers to join our team at the Mega Bus depot in Kathu. If you have a Grade 12, a valid commercial driving license (CE – G / CE – PG / C – G), and 5+ years of professional driving experience, this opportunity could be the right route for your career.
What You’ll Contribute
As a Unitrans Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transport of passengers across scheduled routes. Your commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and professional conduct will help maintain the highest standards of service we’re known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport passengers safely and punctually across established routes.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and the customer’s Safety Management System (SMS).
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure timely reporting of any defects or malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and passenger trip registrations.
- Participate in all mandatory safety meetings (DSS), training sessions, and toolbox talks.
- Uphold passenger service excellence and follow all Unitrans Passenger rules and regulations.
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness, refueling, and proper use of vehicle safety equipment (seat belts, wheel chocks, etc.).
- Report all near misses, incidents, and any vehicle damage immediately.
- Never deviate from assigned routes or make unauthorized stops.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / National Certificate
- Valid CE – G, CE – PG, or C – G license with a PrDP
- 5+ years of relevant driving experience
- Strong knowledge of defensive and preventative driving techniques
- Understanding and acceptance of the Unitrans Code of Conduct
- Familiarity with HST safety regulations and procedures
