📝 Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Code 14 Driver with PDP for Dangerous Goods to join our transport team. Your primary role will be to ensure the safe, on-time delivery and/or collection of goods, with strict adherence to road safety and company procedures.
📌 Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate / Level 4 Qualification (SAQA-recognized)
- Valid, unendorsed Code 14 Driver’s License
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) for Dangerous Goods (Non-negotiable)
- Basic computer literacy
- Fluent in English and/or Afrikaans
- Previous experience transporting LPG or fuel is a strong advantage
🛠️ Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver products to customers safely and timeously
- Analyze delivery addresses and select the best route
- Perform regular vehicle checks (fluids, tire pressure, safety items)
- Load and unload goods
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean, roadworthy condition
- Comply with traffic laws and company safety policies
- Report any delays, damages, or incidents to the Manager immediately
- Collect payment and ensure all delivery documentation is accurately completed
- Deliver hazardous goods with care and in compliance with regulations
- Communicate clearly with clients on-site and with the office during trips
- Complete driving logs and daily performance paperwork
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned by Management
📋 Paperwork & Compliance
- Ensure Delivery and Collection Notes are correctly completed
- Client signatures must be obtained, including where damages are involved
- Document crew and driver details on all paperwork
- Report and document damages on-site where applicable
