Job Overview
Afrirent (Pty) Ltd is seeking a reliable Fleet Driver to support the operations of the Afrirent Fleet Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and delivery of vehicles, goods, and documentation, as well as ensuring company vehicles are well maintained and compliant with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Operational Duties
- Perform all business-related collections and deliveries, including parcels and documentation
- Collect and deliver documents to customers, Afrirent sites, and depots as required
- Accurately complete trip sheets, time sheets, logbooks, and other required documentation in line with company procedures
- Renew vehicle licence discs at the relevant licensing authorities
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Contracts Manager: Operations, providing regular updates and feedback
- Comply with the Road Traffic Act and follow approved and optimal routes at all times
- Identify, report, and manage potential risks and hazards
- Adhere strictly to Occupational Health and Safety policies and standards
Vehicle Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure roadworthiness before use
- Monitor and maintain fuel levels at all times
- Clean and wash vehicles weekly or as required
- Ensure vehicle licence discs are obtained and displayed before expiry
- Schedule vehicles for routine servicing and maintenance
- Report any vehicle damage or mechanical faults to the Contracts Manager: Operations
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Minimum of 2 years’ driving experience
- Valid Code 10 driver’s licence
- Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
