🎯 Purpose of the Role
To ensure the safe and timely transportation of personnel, packages, and/or products while complying with all safety, operational, and legal requirements.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
🚦 Safety & Compliance
- Use safety equipment correctly (communication devices, recovery equipment, tyre repair tools).
- Follow emergency response procedures.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections (roadworthiness checks).
- Report vehicle defects, warning lights, unusual noises, tyre issues, and windscreen damage.
- Ensure compliance with the GSO Journey Management Plan and all site procedures.
- Maintain valid Sasol Defensive Driving certification.
- Adhere to government legal frameworks and company regulations.
🚗 Vehicle Maintenance
- Perform first-line maintenance (refuelling, tyre pressure, oil & fluid checks, windscreen wash top-up).
- Coordinate with fleet management for servicing.
📋 Operational Duties
- Plan routes efficiently (especially for multiple stops).
- Meet strict collection and delivery times.
- Courier items between project sites.
- Provide reports and feedback to management.
- Assist team members with daily tasks.

- Maintain a professional and presentable appearance.
- Build effective relationships with colleagues, customers, and management.
- Attend training and identify personal development needs.
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Intermediate English proficiency
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving personnel
- Fleet management experience (advantageous)
- SAP knowledge (notifications, work orders, PR, SES) – advantageous
- Basic computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) – preferred
Licenses
- Valid Driver’s License
- Professional Driver’s Permit (PDP)
