Job Overview
Afrirent (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Fleet Driver to provide safe, reliable, and efficient collection and delivery services in support of the Afrirent Fleet Division. The role also involves ensuring company vehicles are well maintained and complying with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Driving and Delivery:
- Carry out all business-related collections and deliveries, including parcels and documentation
- Collect and deliver documents to customers, Afrirent sites, depots, or other requested locations
- Accurately complete trip sheets, timesheets, logbooks, and other required documentation in line with company procedures
- Renew vehicle licence discs at the relevant licensing departments
- Maintain regular communication with the Contracts Manager: Operations to provide updates and receive instructions
- Comply with all OHS policies and standards
- Adhere strictly to the Road Traffic Act and approved or optimal routes
- Identify, report, and manage potential risks and hazards
Vehicle Maintenance and Housekeeping:
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness before use
- Monitor and maintain adequate fuel levels at all times
- Clean and wash vehicles weekly or as required
- Ensure vehicle licence discs are obtained and displayed before expiry
- Schedule vehicles for routine servicing and maintenance
- Report any vehicle damages or mechanical faults to the Contracts Manager: Operations
Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Minimum of 2 years’ driving experience
- Valid Code 10 driver’s licence
- Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
