Job Overview
Enaex is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Driver to support its operations in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient transportation of explosives while adhering to all company policies, legal requirements, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with organisational policies by staying informed, attending training sessions, and proactively resolving operational queries.
- Adhere to established processes through accurate execution, continuous process awareness, and prompt resolution of issues.
- Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities to the line manager, supported by relevant insights and information.
- Complete daily deliveries by receiving allocated products, verifying explosives seal integrity, confirming delivery details, planning optimal routes, and obtaining proof of delivery.
- Maximise delivery efficiency through correct vehicle loading, effective route planning, and strict compliance with road traffic laws and CIE explosives transport regulations.
- Support safe offloading procedures by coordinating with recipients, securing offloading areas, following safety protocols, and executing agreed step-by-step offloading plans.
- Maintain vehicle compliance by completing daily inspection checklists, ensuring the validity of licences and Explosives Operators Cards, and confirming the availability and condition of required safety equipment.
- Accurately complete daily driver logbooks, recording delivery details, distances travelled, and trip-related information, and submit records within agreed deadlines.
- Track and report fuel consumption, including fuel costs and mileage per tank, and submit reports in the prescribed format on time.
- Support SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) compliance through training participation, monitoring performance, addressing non-compliance, and implementing corrective actions within set timelines.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and service providers by ensuring clear communication and monitoring service levels.
- Actively contribute to team activities, provide support where required, and maintain a dependable presence within the team.
- Identify personal development needs and complete approved training or development activities.
- Participate in company-wide initiatives and consistently demonstrate Enaex values in all professional interactions.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Hazchem Certification
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a driver
- At least 1 year’s experience handling explosives and emergency procedures (Hazchem)
- Minimum of 2 years’ driving experience within a supply chain explosives environment
